FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS – FAQ

WHAT IS NEW YORK WATER TAXI?

We are a marine transportation company that moves people around the City of New York using a fleet of catamaran vessels. We can stop at multiple locations in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens and Staten Island.

HOW DO I HIRE A WATER TAXI VESSEL?

Please fill out the form on our private charter page and a sales person will contact you. The form is located here.

DO YOU HAVE A REGULAR NY WATER TAXI SCHEDULE?

No. We don’t operate on a regular schedule. Most of our charters are for larger groups (more than 30 people)  who have pre-arranged a pickup and dropoff. When you charter a water taxi, you are not sharing the boat with anyone else (like a bus or NYC Ferry). You will be the only group on the boat. With enough advance notice, we can pick you up and drop you off any time, any day.

WHAT LOCATIONS DOES WATER TAXI OPERATE FROM?

Our home port is Pier 83, West 42nd Street and 12th Avenue but we also have a downtown location, Pier 16/South Street Seaport that we regularly operate from.  We can also stop at many locations through Manhattan including 34th Street, 90th Street, Brookfield Place, and Dyckman Marina; in Brooklyn at Red Hook, Williamsburg, Greenpoint; and Long Island City in Queens. Unfortunately, we can’t stop at Yankee Stadium, World Fair Marina at Citi Field / Billie Jean King National Tennis Center, Coney Island, the Rockaways, the Statue of Liberty or Ellis Island. We also are no longer able to stop at Pier 1/Dumbo or Pier 6/Atlantic Avenue.
